Community
Architecture should help shape and grow communities. By incorporating community in our design and decision-making process, we aim to provide a real sense of ownership at every stage. We design spaces that foster human connection, by creating opportunities to meet people, share food, and learn together. Here’s a few ways that we’ve done this:
Tangible
We benefit communities in visible ways throughout the process — including by consulting directly with end users, working with locals in construction, and more. Always conscious of the context of a project, we incorporate culture and history into design whenever possible.
Intangible
We believe in building cultural institutions — without walls — for the more immaterial and tacit kind of knowledge about interacting with nature and the surrounding environment.
Future-oriented design should encourage people to think more deeply about the land and its communities. One way we incorporate this is by forming real bonds between individuals, the community, and the buildings during the design process. We don’t just get to know our clients, we make genuine connections with all the stakeholders of our projects.
