Architecture x Agriculture - an Inspiration Series
This is a series that we originally hosted on Instagram where we shared ongoing research, precedents, and agriculture related practices that have inspired us at MOTIV.
We start with agrarian infrastructure and traditional drying methods across the globe.
“Fiskehjell” are traditional fish drying racks found in the North-Norwegian coastline, where fish are hung to dry on large A-shaped wooden racks.
“Shaiqiu” is a traditional autumn harvest method practiced in Wuyuan, China, where fruits and vegetables are left to sun dry on large circular bamboo baskets.
“Hoshigaki" in Japanese [or "Shìbing" in Chinese and "Gotgam" in Korean] refers to dried persimmon, a traditional Asian winter delicacy.
