Architecture x Agriculture x 3
This is a series that we originally hosted on Instagram where we shared ongoing research, precedents, and agriculture related practices that have inspired us at MOTIV.
This week’s series shares some of our favourite agrarian structures… starting off with the EggMobile made famous by Joel Salatin of Polyface Farms. The EggMobile is a portable hen house designed to follow cows in their grazing rotation; a practice of regenerative farming. The concept allows for egg laying hens to free range from the mobile structure, eating amongst other things fly larvae from the cow manure and fertilizing the pasture with their own nitrogen rich excrement.
Check out “Polyface Designs” to learn how to build this version of an EggMobile along with other farming infrastructure.
